PRIVACY POLICY

Dogman Cometh is operated by Michael Patrick Fitzhugh, sole proprietor. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we do with it.

1. Information We Collect

Account data: email, display name, hashed password (or federated identity if you sign in with Google).

Submissions: photos, text testimonies, audio and video clips you upload, along with metadata (timestamp, size, duration, filter verdict).

Location data: approximate GPS coordinates captured when you activate the App, tagged to sightings and pings.

Device and usage data: browser type, IP address, and interaction logs used for security and abuse prevention.

2. How We Use Your Information

To operate the App and display submissions to the community; to enforce submission quotas and rate-limit pings; to run the automated content filter; to prevent fraud and abuse; to communicate with you about your account; and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Automated Content Filter

Every submission is processed by an automated filter that classifies content and assigns a verdict. This processing occurs on our servers and on third-party AI providers we retain under confidentiality obligations.

4. Location Data

Location is collected only when you actively use a feature that needs it. To keep costs sustainable, repeated pings from the same location are throttled and de-duplicated server-side. You may revoke browser location permission at any time; some features will stop working.

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with: (a) service providers (hosting, storage, authentication, AI filtering, payment processing) under contract; (b) other users, when you post content or a sighting intended to be visible; and (c) authorities, when required by law or to protect safety.

6. Retention

Account data is retained while your account exists. Submissions and quota records are retained for the lifetime of the account and for a reasonable period after deletion for auditing and abuse prevention.

7. Your Rights

You may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data by emailing mikefitzhugh56@gmail.com. Deleting your account removes your profile but does not restore consumed submission slots.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures including encryption in transit, row-level security on our database, and least-privilege access controls. No system is perfectly secure; use the App at your own risk.

9. Children

The App is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. International Users

By using the App you consent to the processing of your data in the United States and other jurisdictions where our providers operate.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date.
